A Current Thought...

WITH THE NEW YEAR COMES NEW "TESTING" 

THAT IS DESIGNED TO PREPARE US FOR WHAT IS IN OUR FUTURE! ARE YOU READY?!?

This New Year has certainly begun eventfully!                                 

I cannot recall the last time I had a new year begin as this one has!  One of the results for me is a new determination to “seek the Lord while He may be found”. [Isaiah 55:6] The Psalmist wrote in Psalm 34:10 “10 The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing.”

I am fully convinced that this is a time when we must seek the Lord…that the issues that have surfaced are only going to be solved by our commitment to and determined praying!  We know that when we pray according to His will, God will move in such a way that we will have to stand in awe of His amazing work! 

Another issue the Lord has brought to my attention is the necessity of staying in the Word!  I am certain that many of you have at one time or another committed to read the Bible through…or to a set pattern of Bible reading.  I want to encourage you to begin that again.  The Word is our powerful Sword…the weapon that is so necessary in our battle against the ways of this world. The Psalmist reminded us of the power of that practice in Psalm 119:11 when he wrote “11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.”

This year I have determined to read through the Bible completely…once again.  I am using the One Year Bible plan and I invite you to come along on the journey.  I believe God will use it to not only challenge us, but to deepen our walk with Him.

The world stage is heating up…there are rumblings of real issues impacting our lives in the coming year...such as the Iranians closing the Strait of Hormuz…and the continual saber rattling against Israel.  Only if we are prepared will we be able to endure and overcome.
